Session Submission Type: Complete Panel
Considering the textual and discursive production of college and undergraduate students of Brazilian public universities, this session aims to gather the results of research groups interested in understanding how these students handle linguistic, discursive and social skills demanded by academic and scientific fields. All the studies to be presented in this session highlight linguistic and discursive issues throughout the production of academic genres, socio-cognitive and discursive processes regarding textual production, the rewriting of specific discursive genres and marks of pragmatic reflexivity in the learners' textual production. Each presentation relies on different methodological approaches, but they all bring conclusions that can be articulated towards a socio-discursive perspective on teaching-learning processes. The corpus of each study was compiled within the scope of the projects in the context of each participating university. The findings also emphasize the student's agency and reflexivity on writing processes in Brazilian academic environments.
These ongoing studies are within the scope of two national projects: São Paulo Research Foundation/FAPESP Thematic Project (no. 2022/05908-0) and National Council for Scientific and Technological Development/CNPq Universal Project (no. 404390/2021-8 and no. 407.593/2021-7).
