Session Submission Type: Complete Panel
This panel focuses on how communities are formed and strengthened through drumming practices in Brazil and how these rhythms relate to social matters during its practice and also through an analytical point of view. From samba-reggae to maracatu, congado, and other popular music traditions, the panel also approaches matters of (under)representation and popularization of Brazilian rhythms.
