Save the Children implemented its Numeracy Boost intervention in Pakistan and Bangladesh in 2012. Numeracy Boost applies a framework of training teachers to more effectively strengthen students’ conceptual understanding of math and mobilizing the community to provide opportunities for children to practice their math skills outside of school. To gain a better understanding of how teachers have been influenced by the approach, particularly whether beliefs around math teaching and learning have changed, teachers participating in the project were interviewed by project staff and were also given a questionnaire at the beginning and at the end of the project. The results are presented here to show change in teacher knowledge, attitude, and practice and differences between the two project sites.
