Recent international policy commitments such as SDG4 aim at ensuring access to education for displaced populations. However, legal and institutional challenges exist, including the lack of country-specific legal frameworks and political will to address the needs of displaced populations. Additionally, there may be missing links between responsible authorities, such as MoEs, other government bodies mandated to address the needs of displaced populations and international and national partners. Including displaced populations in national education systems requires governments to take a leading role in coordination efforts and partners to align their initiatives with the government’s priorities. The discussion on this theme will look at experiences from countries on legal frameworks and coordination and strategies to address the challenges.
