Proposal

Under the overall theme of Emergency and Post-Conflict Education, the objectives of the session is to offer a panel presentation on South Sudan's 4 years of Emergency Education Program (2014- 2017) and what this means for a Southern context with the highest proportion of out-of-schoolchildren among conflict zones globally. A panel of four session speakers including a discussant will offer a lively discourse on the context of South Sudan on the following sub-topics: a) Providing education in emergency situations: the case of South Sudan; b) Assessing learning outcomes in a crisis and conflict affected environment; c) Addressing the psychosocial needs to learners; and d) Rapid Education Risk Analysis in South Sudan.
