This proposed session will highlight the role of HBCUs in campus internationalization and the role of international students. We teach diverse student population in terms of student age, ethnicity, experience, family background, socio-economic status, and nationality. So is the case of faculty and staff. Diversity and campus internationalization have been on priority for many HBCUs and they have been developing many resources and programs to “attract international students as well as students of other races and ethnicities, especially Latinos” (Oguntoyinbo, 2015). In fact, HBCUs have played a crucial role in creating global citizens by offering study abroad program and foreign language minors and majors (Gasman, 2016; George Mwangi, 2017). The session will highlight the some of the following key areas of internationalization at HBCUs—
• Globalizing HBCUs degree programs
• Study abroad among Black undergraduates at HBCUs
• Foreign students bring global exposure to classmates at HBCUs
• Caribbean students' experiences at HBCUs
• Trump's war on immigration and HBCUs
• What do Chinese students think about HBCUs?
