Proposal

BACKGROUND
Recently, there was more and more crime of passion occurred in university. The reason why these cases shocked the community, because the perpetrators are the top students of National Taiwan University. Such an event, showing that intellectual regarded as a center of Taiwan’s education for a long time and ignoring the affection part of education. According to Erikson (1982), College is an important stage in the development of close relations, which means that establish close relationships with others is important to them. However, when facing with failure and frustration they didn’t know how to manage their emotions and after the outbreak of the long-term depressed mood caused irreparable tragedy. Therefore, affection education seemed to be a seriously part of education that we need to pay attention on.
Besides, due to the freedom atmosphere, diversity gender can easily be found in college campus. But under the influence of heterosexual hegemony, we used to preset heterosexual as the model of relationships in gender education. Our gender or affection education taught students how to interact with opposite sex, so that they can get ready to enter a heterosexual relationships. For the non-mainstream sexual orientation students, they not only have to seek the gender identity themselves, but also have to suffer the unfriendly social affirmation and recognition. Furthermore, not to mention being hurt in an intimate relationship. So if we can establish a friendly and diversity environment in the campus, teaching our students how to respect each other, maybe they can be more rational when facing with their own relationships problem.
In addition to the important of diverse affection education, how to integrate into teaching can also be another big issue to discuss. In the West, Shakespeare tend to be a foundation course in education. That is because literature is an important way of learning love and empathy. We can realize the affection through the literature, while we were reading. Goodman (1994) considered that reading is not only turn the text into spoken words, but also need the readers to exchange the meaning of the text, which is based on reader’s own experience. In view of this, if we can adopting diverse affection education in literature into general Chinese literature teaching, maybe the students can learn the diverse affection through the literature, and enhance the friendliness of diversity gender.

Both quantitative data as the main data and qualitative text as the secondary data were collected; furthermore, combined both data to increase the depth of explanation. The study was divided into three parts: first, a nonequivalent pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was implemented in the quantitative research, and 119 students of National Cheng Kung University freshmen in two classes that one is traditional instruction (control group) and diverse affection instruction (experimental group). This experiment was conducted for 18 weeks. The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA and t-test. Second, three part of qualitative text were collected as follows: (a) Through three times observations in classroom, (b) The writing context of experimental group students during the class, (c) Instruction's teaching materials. Finally, the mixed-methods converted the qualitative text into quantitative data.
