Proposal

This presentation addresses the CIES theme, what kind of development is promulgated through literacy, skills training, and formal schooling? What are the larger costs? The panelist will discuss systemic and policy challenges that emerge as higher education systems begin the process of revitalization after conflict. Discussion will offer insights into potential ways to address emerging challenges and identify points of resilience that must be supported to gain the confidence of stakeholders and create conditions for mutual learning. The discussion will also address USDWP’s impact on higher education stakeholders and the quality of faculty improvements. Insights regarding budget implications for operating in conflict environments, including finding ways to deliver capacity-building trainings, will be explored.
