Thu, April 18, 11:45am to 1:15pm, Hyatt Regency, Floor: Pacific Concourse (Level -1), Pacific O

Proposal

Typical technical expertise found with in ministries of education and/or education projects are on pedagogical instruction, training, materials development, instructional design, etc. Yet this technical expertise while critical, it is not aligned with the key expertise that is required in supply chains – procurement, operations, logistics/transportation.

This presentation will use the DRC ACCLERE!1 project as management chain case study for teaching and learning materials. The ACCELRE!1 Project is in its 4th cycle of the TLM supply chain, delivering books to eight provinces, in four languages, for four grade levels. In April ACCELERE! Will simultaneously be at two different stages (both delivery, and development) in the supply chain. This affords ACELERE! the opportunity to reflect and share highlights, challenges, lessons learned, as well as successfully methodologies that were used to improved ACCELERE! supply chain, including delivery. The case study will also pull in proven best practices in supply chain management and how education projects and ministries of education can leverage and transfer some of these best practices.

Finally, the case study will conclude with impacts of implementing supply chain management practices in the ACCELERE!1 project.
