Group Submission Type: Refereed Round-Table Session
When it comes to secondary education, developing countries cannot afford to leave their girls behind. A Plan International study estimates that the economic costs of failed support for girls’ secondary education reaches $92 billion each year. Yet, girls benefit from secondary education at significantly lower rates than their male peers. Plan will present some key programmatic findings which have informed the development of the GirlEngage design tool, which places girls at the center of program design and implementation. This discussion will engage fellow educators and program implementers in the review and improvement of Plan’s emerging conceptual model and design tool.
