Proposal

Realizing the critical role that government and other key stakeholders play, RELI members draw on their collective experience to generate evidence to influence inclusive education policies and their implementation at the local, national, regional, and global levels. As a large network, RELI is well poised to influence policy across a range of issues and has grown as an authority on various policy issues in the East African region.

As a large network, RELI is well poised to influence policy across a range of issues informed by collectively generated evidence. RELI members draw on their collective experience to influence inclusive education policies and their implementation at the local, national, regional, and global levels. This is achieved through establishing and sustaining strategic partnerships with key policy makers at the ministry of education, Monitoring and mapping out active bills in parliament to identify relevant bills for RELI members to engage, Shadow/complementary reporting to human rights treaty bodies to inform submissions on education, engagement with IFIs i.e., World bank to influence their education policies and participating among others.

RELI has established a strong collaboration mechanism with the ministry of education and various education institutions in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. By Cementing and sustaining the Connection to government, focusing especially on the core areas of learning outcomes for learners furthest behind, support to pillars of the competence-based curriculum, and teacher education reforms among other core areas, collaborative initiatives have shaped and contributed towards policy review processes at the National, regional and global levels.
