Strengthening Sector Capacity in Research: An Interactive Brainstorm to Address Gaps in Research and Evaluation Quality

Proposal

The purpose of this presentation is to provide an interactive forum to discuss the state of USAID-funded research and evaluation quality in the education sector while generating inputs on how to close the gaps in principles identified as not meeting the standards of quality. Using the tool introduced in presentation 1 and the findings from presentation 2, the audience will have the opportunity to discuss the following:
1. What may be some underlying reasons why certain principles of quality are not met?
2. How can donors such as USAID support international and local capacity to meet and exceed the principles of quality in education studies?
3. Which principles of quality require more guidance to support better practice by education researchers and evaluators?
4. What resources are needed to support capacity building in education research and evaluation, especially for local researchers and local evaluators?
