Proposal

What works to improve teaching at scale? Can this be implemented in low- and middle-income countries? Ben Piper will discuss structured pedagogy, teaching-at-the-right-level and remediation to improve foundational literacy and numeracy teaching at scale discussing the commonalities around programs that work, and the key pitfalls of the strategies. When doing so, he will discuss the importance of instructional coherence--- alignment between curriculum, teacher professional development, student assessment, and teaching and learning materials.
