OJED-STAR Scholars Book Projects

Wed, March 13, 2:45 to 4:15pm, Hyatt Regency Miami, Floor: Third Level, Foster 1

Proposal

The Director of Book Publications from the STAR Scholars Network will provided updates on how book chapters and books make a statement about current and future thinking in comparative and international higher education. This includes Study Abroad and International Students. A background on the selection process and support process for publishing a book will be shared. OJED uses the Open Journal System (OJS) platform, where readers can browse by subject, drill down to journal level to find the aims, scope, and editorial board for each individual title, as well as search back issues.
The STAR Scholars Press seeks to explore new ideas and best practices related to international student mobility, study abroad, exchange programs, student affairs from the US and around the world, and from a wide range of academic fields, including student affairs, international education, and cultural studies. STAR Scholars Press publishes titles in collaboration with Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, Springer, Journal of International Students, and other university presses. Upon publication, books and book chapters are immediately available for free to anyone, anywhere, at any time. All published articles are licensed under Creative Commons. All books and book chapters are permanently available online. The open-access format enables knowledge to be exchanged easily and provides a foundation for influencing a new generation of scholars, researchers, and practitioners.
Recently published books include:
