Since 2021 a donor, in collaboration with an implementing partner, has been supporting the Government of Morocco to develop courses in Deaf Education and Moroccan Sign Language to train public education teachers as well as teachers who work in schools for the deaf and NGOs that support the deaf community. To ensure content appropriateness, MITTA collaborated with eight deaf community members to develop the content and conducted a needs assessment and NGO mapping exercise. This presentation will showcase how the localization effort to adapt, develop, and validate content took place. The discussion will focus on the experiences of our local team engaging with the deaf community and the results and perceptions of key stakeholders in this co-development process.
