Global Child Thrive Act: USAID Implementation Guidance

Mon, March 11, 9:45 to 11:15am, Hyatt Regency Miami, Floor: Terrace Level, Orchid B

Proposal

USAID’s Global Child Thrive Act Implementation Guidance (2023) is based on an extensive review of global evidence and consultations with an internal USAID advisory group and a wider group of stakeholders across multiple USAID bureaus and working groups. Its aim is to guide USAID Missions and Operating Units to integrate the Global Child Thrive Act in programming strategies, program design, and reporting in maternal and child health; nutrition; child protection; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and education programming. This presentation provides an overview of the guidance and describes examples of current USAID work to support early learning and illustrative actions education programmers might take to increase inclusion and strengthen coordination and integration with other sectors, including increasing humanitarian-development coherence.
