Education systems are more likely to deliver learning if the vision, curriculum, teacher pedagogical practices in the classroom, and assessment are aligned. Uganda is a focus country in the 2024 Spotlight cycle. The presentation will present the result of this research to align these critical system components to inform policy direction for strengthening foundational learning. Emerging evidence from the Uganda Spotlight research indicates that the curriculum is overloaded and needs a coherent pedagogy for teaching and learning literacy and numeracy skills.
