Group Submission Type: Special Session
Xavier Cortada will discuss the power of art to engage and educate communities so they can learn together and work together to prepare for a future impacted by extreme heat, rising seas and global climate change. As social and racial inequities are further exposed and as the climate emergency worsens, Xavier seeks to use art’s elasticity to work across disciplines to engage others in effectuating meaningful change in a polarized world. This format will involve a presentation by Xavier and open up opportunities for online participants to ask questions and offer insights into the power of art as resource and medium for protest.
