Closing Ceremony: A Celebration of CIES2024 Together

Description of Session

As the last event of CIES 2024, the Closing Ceremony will reflect on what we have learnt
together as a community, how to listen and learn across divides and differences, and how
we might learn to live well with the world.
We will feature a ‘visual story of the conference’ and how our theme helps connect current
and past struggles for social justice, and actions like protest, to the role that education itself
might play in making a better world.
At this closing event, Artist in Residence, Xavier Cortada will receive on-stage the mural that
he has been working on with conference participants around the conference theme.
