Proposal

GPE’s Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) is the largest fund solely dedicated to meet global public good gaps in education with a budget of $165.5m. It is dedicated to helping lower income countries identify and close knowledge gaps, strengthen their ability to use knowledge, and bring innovations to scale so that more children get a quality education. KIX helps more than 75 GPE partner countries adapt, test, and scale proven approaches in: teacher professional development; data systems and use; gender equality, equity and inclusion; and early childhood education through four KIX regional learning exchange hubs and over 50 KIX applied research projects.
KIX supported the EMIS work in The Gambia through a range of grants including the Data Must Speak project of UNICEF Innocenti, two rounds of funding for the DHIS2 applied research project with the University of Oslo, and the EMIS stocktaking work supported by the KIX A19 Hub and led by the African Union Commission. The presentation will explain the coordination of these different endeavors under KIX.
