Proposal

Piramal Foundation has systematically brought SEE Learning (Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning) to various regions in India, demonstrating a comprehensive and collaborative approach to educational reform. The program has been launched in multiple states, each with unique strategies and partnerships to ensure effective implementation and sustainability.
In Jammu and Kashmir, SEE Learning has been introduced in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions. In the Jammu division, the program is being implemented in collaboration with the Department of School Education, while in the Kashmir division, it is being rolled out in partnership with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). This dual approach ensures that the program is tailored to the specific needs and contexts of each division, fostering a supportive environment for students and educators alike.
In Odisha, SEE Learning has been integrated into the state agenda through a collaboration with SCERT. This partnership aims to embed the principles of SEE Learning into the broader educational framework of the state, ensuring that social, emotional, and ethical competencies are prioritized alongside academic achievements. Similarly, in Rajasthan, the program focuses on curriculum integration and teacher capacity building in collaboration with the Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT). This initiative includes deep interventions in 110 schools in the Jhunjhunu district, working closely with district education departments to support teachers and students.
In Maharashtra, SEE Learning has been rolled out in 102 Ashram Schools in the Palghar district. These schools, which serve tribal communities, are benefiting from the program’s emphasis on holistic development, helping to address the unique challenges faced by these students. The integration of SEE Learning into the state agendas of Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, and Rajasthan also includes the development of a cadre of SEE Learning Master Facilitators. These facilitators are trained to support curriculum integration and provide ongoing professional development for teachers, ensuring the program’s sustainability and scalability.
Overall, SEE Learning is reaching more than 65,000 public schools across five states in India. This extensive reach is a testament to the program’s adaptability and the effectiveness of the collaborative approach taken by Piramal Foundation and its partners. By working closely with state and district education departments, SEE Learning is able to address local needs and contexts, providing students with the skills they need to thrive both academically and personally. The program’s focus on building a supportive network of educators and community members further enhances its impact, creating a nurturing environment for students to develop their social, emotional, and ethical competencies.
Through these systematic efforts, SEE Learning is making a significant difference in the educational landscape of India, helping to foster a generation of students who are not only academically proficient but also emotionally resilient and ethically grounded. The success of the program in various regions highlights the importance of collaboration and cultural relevance in educational reform, providing a model for other regions to follow.
