From 2022 to 2024, SEE Learning has seen significant growth in Taiwan, marked by the development of a robust network of facilitators and the integration of the program into various educational institutions. Currently, there are 4 SEE Learning Level 2 facilitators-in-training, 18 Level 1 facilitators, and 30 Level 1 facilitators-in-training. The translation of the curriculum and companion materials into Chinese has enabled the independent conduct of Level 1 facilitator training in the native language, enhancing accessibility and effectiveness.
Five universities—National Taiwan Normal University, National Taipei University of Education, National Cheng Kung University, National Taichung University of Education, and National Kaohsiung Normal University—have partnered with Lizen to organize international forums and SEE teacher training sessions. This collaboration has been instrumental in promoting SEE Learning and providing a platform for educators to share best practices and insights. Additionally, five elementary schools and one senior high school have integrated SEE Learning into their regular curriculum, demonstrating the program’s adaptability and relevance across different educational levels.
Numerous training events have been organized to support the implementation of SEE Learning. These include 9 “A Taste for SEE Learning” sessions, 15 SEE Learning teacher training sessions in individual schools, 7 “SEE Learning 101 Workshops,” 5 “Getting Started with SEE Learning” workshops, and 2 “SEE Learning Teachers’ Preparation Workshops.” These events have collectively attracted around 1,000 participants, many of whom have begun implementing SEE Learning in their classrooms. The positive feedback from these training sessions underscores the program’s impact and the enthusiasm of educators to adopt its principles.
Building on this success, efforts are now underway to incorporate SEE Learning into official teacher training systems and incumbent teacher development programs. This strategic move aims to ensure the sustainability and scalability of SEE Learning across Taiwan. By embedding the program into formal teacher training curricula, SEE Learning can reach a broader audience and become a staple in the professional development of educators.
Overall, the systematic implementation of SEE Learning in Taiwan highlights the program’s potential to transform educational practices by fostering social, emotional, and ethical competencies in students. The collaborative efforts of universities, schools, and training organizations have created a strong foundation for the continued growth and success of SEE Learning in the region.
