Group Submission Type: Special Session

Description of Session

Research about education provides valuable insights into how new approaches for learning achievement can be supported through technology for children and youth around the world. However, one of the major challenges for development is maintaining a strong link between the constantly evolving body scholarship while ensuring its impact on the ground. This session discusses the belief in the power of connection for improving results both in and outside of the classroom. This second provocation session will include two rounds of commentary. The first set of invited comments is provided by leadership from the Global Science of Learning Network (USA) and the mEducation Alliance (USA). Their discussion will center on the process of knowledge brokering and the importance of convening within a fragmented field of digital learning solutions. The second round will include expert commentary from the Central Square Foundation (India) and the Global Education Monitoring Report (UNESCO) and will discuss best practices in dissemination of research products for policy-oriented change at scale. After each round of comments, speakers will engage the audience in a world cafe-style conversation that builds on the brief set of prepared remarks followed by targeted provocation prompts.
