‘Games Night’ CIES Community Celebration Reception

Description of Session

The CIES 2025 conference committee is excited to invite attendees to an exciting and interactive community ‘Games Night’ reception. Traditional table-top games are enjoying renewed attention as people are finding ways of connecting with one another. At CIES 2025 we want to contribute to fostering connection by hosting a fun-filled evening of game playing—from scrabble to Pac-Man to VR home run derby—while also catching up with old and new friends, and enjoying complementary appetizers and a cash bar. In addition to our CIES conference attendees, we will be joined at Games Night by education students from Oslo Metropolitian University, Norway, and students from a local Chicago high school game club who are excited to engage with our members by introducing new games as well as remind us of the value of games in and for education. We look forward to seeing you at the UNO table, challenging someone to a game of chess, playing on the video arcades, or trying out the VR station at our community ‘Games Night’ celebration!
