In the dynamic landscape of logistics and transportation, drone delivery emerges as a promising innovation, particularly for medical supplies. This study illuminates the scarce empirical understanding of consumer decision making towards this technology. We employ Expectancy Theory and the configurational approach using fsQCA to investigate the drivers, barriers to drone delivery adoption, and disparities between urban and suburban consumer perceptions. Using a cross-sectional survey of U.S. consumers, our research unravels distinct consumer behavior patterns in varying residential contexts, offering pivotal implications for the field of logistics and transportation. The study concludes with practical recommendations, limitations, and future research prospects.
