The purpose of this paper is to present a typology of economic crime (white collar crime) offenders. This crime is understood as a crime or similarly serious conduct related to business, which is aimed, even if indirectly, at property gain or damage. On the basis of an analysis of the definitional framework of economic crime and cases from criminal law practice, three dichotomous features were identified: (dis)respect for the law, (dis)organisation of conduct and distribution/receipt of profit. Their combination determines eight types of offenders. In cases where more than one person is involved in criminal activity, the interaction between the perpetrators creates typical structures. The proposed typology and model structures could be a suitable "stepping stone" for more successful prevention, detection and clarification of economic crime.
