The topic of this presentation is the victimization and crime reporting during the post-pandemic period, as shown by the relevant analysis of the provided statistical data and research results with the main aim of concluding whether the progress of certain crimes after the pandemic follows the same trend or the opposite to that observed during the pandemic. Zero point is May 2023, when, according to the WHO, the official end of the pandemic was declared, thus distinguishing two reference periods, the pandemic and the post-pandemic. In the same context, the contribution of international organizations, the action of social services, as well as the will of the legislature (both at the European and national level) in the protection of victims of crime and in the management of the flow of crime reporting for these same periods of time are also studied. In conclusion, the presentation is called upon to highlight the impact of the pandemic in the field of victimization and reporting of crimes, as well as to what extent the services, organizations and the legislation are adequately prepared for these needs in the formulation of crime policy, both in favor of the protection of victims who officially report, but also of those who request for help without reporting the criminal act committed against them.
