Project Rebound at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a transformative program designed to support formerly incarcerated individuals in their pursuit of higher education. Project Rebound acts as a liaison to campus supports and community organizations to advocate for reentering students. In addition, the program offers assistance with basic needs to facilitate successful reintegration. This paper explores statistical differences between Project Rebound students and non-Project Rebound students at CSUSB to understand how the program impacts academic achievement. Comparing these two groups allows for a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals involved in reentry as well as the role of higher education in their successful reintegration. By identifying these differences, the research aims to shed light on the role that structured support programs like Project Rebound play in academic success and social mobility for students with incarcerated backgrounds. This comparison is crucial for enhancing policies and practices related to reentry programming. We advocate for the expansion of such initiatives at other institutions to ensure equitable access to education for marginalized populations.
