Abstract

Since the previous ESC, the study team have written and published their statistical analysis plan (SAP) for this project. This paper will present some interim results from the project based on data from approximately 1,600 offenders who have been tracked for 1 year post-randomisation. Using these preliminary findings to refine power simulations of the trial and related empirical approaches, the session will walk through the changes made, rationale for those changes and the overall approach being taken to the planned analysis. The paper will conclude with a discussion of the statistical issues raised by the project and their implications for criminological field trials.
