The justice system is a complex mix of organizations and personnel, including many working in less visible and recognized roles. The public often overlooks these hidden personnel for their contributions and the dangers and trauma exposure found in their work. Likewise, academic attention tends to focus on law enforcement and corrections officers and select court personnel (e.g., judges, prosecutors, and defense counsel). This presentation considers the perceptions and experiences of two categories of hidden personnel (detention officers and communications personnel).
