In South Africa and across the globe, victim precipitated crime, and domestic burglary is now a recurrent crime for law enforcement agencies to curtail. This has led to serious breach of security and has raised serious questions on the safety of lives and properties amongst citizens. Thus, the widespread of other forms of victimization has led to repeated victimization. Burglary nowadays has continued to form a major topic of discussion and due to this, the incidence of burglary against victims has raised serious questions on security strategies on how to prevent the occurrence and re-occurrence of burglary. As a result of being victim of burglary and in some instances repeated victimization, there is a strong likelihood that there may be very strong impact on the victims such as psychological damage. The study was quantitative in nature as semi structured questionnaires were administered to respondents in the study area. A selected finding revealed that a majority of the respondents (76%) stated that they were victims of crime despite not precipitating victimization. The study recommends an improved strategy is safeguarding life and property in the study area.
