Abstract

The aim of the presentation is to present selected relationships between different types of so-called dysfunctional behaviors in the family and the revealed narcissistic traits and behaviors in young adults. The presentation will present theoretical assumptions regarding this issue, including the role and importance of family functioning on the development of the personality of young adults, theoretical assumptions related to the development and formation of narcissistic traits in young adults, and difficulties in the psychosocial functioning of people with narcissistic traits. The second part of the presentation will present the preliminary results of our own research on the discussed issue, especially in the field of the relationship between disorders in family functioning and the intensity of narcissistic traits in young adults, which may result in behaviors related to the transgression of legal and socio-cultural norms.
