P130. Utilization of Case Studies of Child Abuse Deaths Using Court Records

Thu, September 4, 6:45 to 8:00pm, Other Venues, Poster Venue

Abstract

In recent years, more than 50 children in Japan have died each year due to parental abuse.Administrative agencies such as the national government and prefectural governments have examined cases of child abuse and death, issued reports, and made public. The survey has been conducted for 20 years, and although there have been some increases and decreases, it has not decreased, and the issues raised are similar.
Conventional verification is the result of interviews with related organizations such as child guidance centers involved in families.I wanted to know what the perpetrator's parents thought, and I thought of a way to use court records to do so.
In this study, we examined the court records of cases of child abuse deaths by parents, and investigated the circumstances of families and children before the abuse deaths, the state of mind of the parents, and the relationship with related organizations.Using the results as material for case studies, we thought that conducting case study meetings would improve the quality of professionals involved in child abuse and lead to the prevention of child abuse cases that will occur in the future.
