Victimization and Crime Statistics: The experience of Mexico measuring Violence Against Women

Abstract

This presentation will showcase statistical information on the perception of insecurity and victimization, as well as the scope, severity, consequences and injuries of all acts of Violence Against Women in Mexico (VAW). This will show the experience and advances from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI), particularly to generate and conducting Crime Victimizations Surveys regarding this phemomena. Hence, it will exhibit experiences in using different statistical methods to collect and produce data for a better understanding of the nature, magnitude, and consequences of violence against women and girls.
