Examining evidence-based youth justice

Fri, September 5, 5:00 to 6:15pm, Communications Building (CN), CN 2104

Session Submission Type: Roundtable

Abstract

This roundtable will bring together a range of international research scholars working at the cutting edge of evidence-based youth justice and the examination of effective responses to offending by children and young people. Discussions will cohere around the key thematic foci of evidence-based youth justice: individualised (psychosocial focus), contextualised (interactional focus), systemic (system reform focus) and future directions for evidence-based youth justice internationally. A key aim of the ropundtable, therefore, is to explore and critically examine a range of academic and organisational approaches and institutional practices in contemporary youth justice in order to rethink and reshape policy agendas, research approaches, theories and concepts.
