Session Submission Type: Pre-arranged Panel
Gangs, gang membership, and gang-related crime all remain enduring issues throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This session brings together five presentations by scholars involved in the Eurogang Program of Research on a diverse array of research. Presentations include studies that explore the multifaceted nature of gangs, their members, and the broader societal implications of gang involvement across different geographical and cultural contexts. Together, these presentations provide a comprehensive, comparative understanding of gangs, their members, and the societal responses to gang-related issues, offering valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and criminal justice professionals.
