Session Submission Type: Pre-arranged Panel
This panel brings together research from various national and cultural settings, including Norway, Finland/Sweden, Iceland, and Ghana, as well as studies conducted in contexts affected by armed conflict (e.g., Ukraine). The panel provides a comprehensive exploration of how youth violence and victimization are experienced differently across countries, highlighting the complex interplay between cultural norms, socio-economic conditions, and national conflict dynamics. The selected studies utilize diverse methodologies to document both traditional forms of crime—such as theft, assault, and vandalism—and emerging trends, including cyber-enabled offenses and digitally facilitated violence.
