Session Submission Type: Pre-arranged Panel
As the ESC celebrates its silver anniversary, what have been the major insights from 25 years of research across Europe on youth crime and juvenile justice? The papers in this panel will explore a range of critical issues and their implications for theory, method and policy. These issues include: restorative justice, detention, child rights, offending pathways, and penal politics. In a context fraught with crisis, what do the lessons from the past tell us about the futures of justice for children and young people who come into conflict with the law? And how can the findings from our research help drive the transformations necessary to enable all children and young people to thrive?
