Session Submission Type: Pre-arranged Panel
Peers and peer influences are one of the strongest correlates of crime and delinquency. Yet, many questions still remain. How do online peer influences, for example, affect offending behavior? Do our current offline theoretical frameworks also apply to online offending? How do cultural and structural contexts influence adolescent friendship ties following police contact? And to what extent can novel methods, such as virtual reality, contribute to our understanding of peer influences? These questions will be addressed in this panel.
