Abstract
The development of new legal fields as well as exceptional situations arising from cases with multiple offenses can create different expectations regarding how to ensure the stability of a community. Sentencing may also depends on the cultural heritage of a community. This section proposes to reflect on the place and role of sentencing in exceptional circumstances.
