This session will explore the contested history surrounding the 1832 Anatomy Act, including the Anatomy murders and the events that led up to and influenced the Act passing. It will also examine the long reaching impact of the legislation on anatomical dissection and the tensions between a thirst for anatomical knowledge and the people from whom that knowledge was derived.
