Well-Being and Daily Virtual Interactions at Work

Sat, May 24, 10:30 to 11:45, Seattle Sheraton, Willow B

Abstract

The present research is about establishing a link between computer-mediated communication (CMC) at work and psychological well-being (PWB). To do so, a diary method will be used in order to draw a rich quantitative picture of daily virtual interactions between employees. These diaries will provide an estimate of the quantity and quality of CMC at work which will then be compared to employees' PWB. Such relationship between CMC use and PWB has been investigated in fields such as social psychology and communication, but is yet to be explored deeper in organisational studies.
