The Impact of Age and Family Communication Pattern on Adult Child-Parent Conflict

Abstract

This exploratory study examined the impact of age- and family-based variables on the amount and management of adult child-parent conflict. Findings indicate differences in conflict tendencies for older adults, and point to several differences in conflict management based on the family communication type of one’s family of origin.
