Restructuring the Oral Memories of the Bereaved Through Narrative and Perspective Taking

Abstract

The study is part of a series of pilot tests that examine how re-creating memories of the deceased might facilitate the grieving process. In this particular phase, we will examine how one individual difference, termed narrative emplotment (Ricoeur, 1982) influences this process. Additionally, we will examine how recreating these memories from first versus third person perspective influences the bereavement process.
