Making use of these data requires understanding the theoretical processes by which they are produced. While some theories generated in the offline world usefully extend to online spaces, sometimes new theories are required to explain new phenomena. Dr. Margolin will introduce satisficing semantic search as one theoretical process that accounts for the content of and form in which online discourse is produced.
