Effective community-based adaptation to climate change requires not only the community learn and understand the threat of climate change but are motivated to take action to alleviate the risks. The way in which the concept of climate change and adaptation is communicated, perceived and understood by diverse stakeholders is therefore important for any long-term action towards mitigation and adaptation to climate change. This is the focal point for this investigation on the role of communication in developing and strengthening the adaptive capacity of small-scale farmers in Kenya.
