Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Inclusive leadership has become the new buzz word for HR and diversity directors who are facing gender fatigue and stagnant diversity policies and are looking for a fresh approach. On the scholars’ side, inclusive leadership has become the kind of “emerging but elusive concept” that still lacks rigorous definition. On both sides, practice and theory, there is great potential despite the lack of definition and embodiment. This panel aims to bridge theory and practice to offer the audience rich contributions on defining (theoretically) and developing (practically) inclusive leadership and leaders in the corporate world.
Flash forward: how companies are moving from diversity to inclusion (presenter 1)
Building on his 10 years long experience as European director of diversity and inclusion of one of the most awarded company for its diversity policy, presenter 1 will offer a practice-based contribution to the understanding of the historical rise of inclusion and inclusive leadership (awareness) in companies.
Looking ahead: defining inclusive leadership (presenters 2 & 3)
Presenters 2 & 3 will offer a research-based contribution to the definition of inclusive leadership. They will share the result of a systematic literature review (SLR) on inclusive leadership and suggest a working definition as well as a “portrait” of the inclusive leader.
View from the top: Leading through inclusion (presenter 4)
What does it mean to lead through inclusion? To be an inclusive leader? To develop inclusive leaders? The presenter 4 is a European CEO recognized for her commitment to gender equality and diversity. She will share with the audience his thoughts, experiences and convictions.
About the presenters
