Only 17 women have won a Nobel prize in physics, chemistry or medicine since Marie Curie in 1903, compared to 657 men. Today, in many regions, girls outscore boys in STEM studies at the age of 15; however, their participation in STEM careers is very low. These gaps don't happen by chance. And as we believe that STEM careers are one of the keys for future economic empowerment, we should understand the drivers behind the situation and start to offer solutions early enough both at school and at home.
