Session Submission Type: Professional Development Workshop

Abstract

This space will provide opportunities for researchers and nonprofits to discuss potential partnerships.

Research partnerships between nonprofits and researchers can be mutually beneficial by helping researchers gain access to real-world data and insights from nonprofits while allowing nonprofits to benefit from the expertise and resources of researchers. GivingTuesday has a vast network of community leaders and nonprofit organizations and can help provide a structured environment for scholars and nonprofits to make connections and build collaborative research projects. This space will facilitate and build connections, supporting the development of high quality research on the third sector. This space will also help identify areas of concentrated knowledge vs. gaps in the sector and potentially increase the uptake of applied research by community groups and organizations.
