Session Submission Type: Meeting
This affinity group aims to be a hub for discussions and cross-sector collaborations on decolonial perspectives. The group envisions a long-term collaboration among members and wants to make ISTR their intellectual home. The affinity group has developed a comparative research project seeks to bring critical insights from the Global South to advance decolonized scholarship on the third sector. By embracing participatory design and indigenous self-determination while grounding knowledge in local contexts, they aim to model equitable partnerships that move beyond extractive dynamics. The group has already submitted a book proposal on the local narratives of civil society origins, featuring chapters from several ISTR members. In line with this goal, they are hosting a roundtable at the upcoming Antwerp conference and have plans for the Asia Pacific Regional Conference in 2025. They intend to organize a series of panels over the coming months to further explore and promote decolonial research within the ISTR community.
